Overview

HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation covers the skills and knowledge required to perform CPR in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines. The unit covers recognising a cardiac or breathing emergency, applying the DRSABCD action plan, performing chest compressions and rescue breaths, operating an automated external defibrillator (AED), managing an unconscious casualty, and communicating incident details to emergency services.

This unit applies to all persons who may be required to provide CPR in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings. It is one of the most widely required units across all industries in Australia.

Delivered via blended learning, combining online theory with a face-to-face practical training and assessment session, this course is suitable for anyone across Queensland who needs a current, nationally recognised CPR certificate for work, compliance or personal preparedness.

On successful completion, participants receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation from Forky Stick Training and Safety Consultants (RTO #45802).

No formal licensing requirements apply to this unit. CPR is commonly refreshed every 12 months; check your workplace requirements.
