Overview
FWPCOT2275 Fell trees manually (basic) covers the knowledge and skills required to assess and fell basic trees manually using a chainsaw, and to complete routine operator chainsaw maintenance. Basic trees are small to medium diameter trees that can be safely and predictably felled using standard cutting techniques, they are sound, stable, free from significant defects or excessive lean, with site conditions that do not add significant complexity to the operation.
This unit applies to individuals who fell basic trees as part of arboriculture, forestry, agriculture, conservation and land management, local government, emergency services and other government agency operations. Note: with the exception of minor forest produce, this unit does not apply to commercial harvesting operations.
Delivered via blended learning, combining online theory with a face-to-face practical training and assessment day, this course is suited to workers across Queensland who are required to safely fell trees as part of their role. All work is carried out in accordance with workplace procedures and current work health and safety legislation, regulations and industry standards.
On successful completion, participants receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for FWPCOT2275 Fell trees manually (basic) from Forky Stick Training and Safety Consultants (RTO #45802).
