Entry requirements
This unit has a mandatory prerequisite. Participants must have successfully completed CPCCLDG3001 Licence to perform dogging, or hold a valid dogging licence, before enrolling in CPCCLRG3001 Licence to perform rigging basic level.
Overview
CPCCLRG3001 Licence to perform rigging basic level covers the skills and knowledge required to safely perform basic rigging work. Riggers use mechanical load shifting equipment and associated gear to move, place or secure loads, including plant, equipment or members of a structure. Riggers also ensure the stability of structural members and set up and dismantle hoists.
This unit applies to rigging work involving structural steel erection, hoists, pre-cast concrete members of a structure, safety nets and static lines, mast climbing work platforms, perimeter safety screens and shutters, and cantilevered crane loading platforms.
This course is suited to workers in construction, mining and industrial environments who carry out or support rigging activities and need to obtain the Basic Rigging High Risk Work Licence in Queensland.
Delivered via blended learning, combining online theory with structured face-to-face practical sessions, participants develop the skills required to perform basic rigging work safely and in compliance with workplace, legislative and licensing requirements.
On successful completion, participants receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for CPCCLRG3001 Licence to perform rigging basic level from Forky Stick Training and Safety Consultants (RTO #45802).
Licensing and regulatory information: This is a licensed occupation. Competence in this unit does not in itself result in a licence. Candidates must complete the relevant National Assessment Instrument (NAI) and apply to the Office of Industrial Relations Queensland for their licence. Licence fees apply.
