Overview

MSMWHS201 Conduct hazard analysis covers the skills and knowledge required to conduct a hazard analysis in workplace environments where hazards exist or specific safety procedures must be followed. This includes formal hazard analysis processes such as Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS). The unit is not intended for simpler routine checks such as Take 5 or Step Back 5×5.

This unit applies to individuals working alone or as part of a team in industrial, mining, resources, process manufacturing or related environments. Conducting a hazard analysis may be required under a safety case, by organisational procedures or simply as good practice.

Delivered via blended learning, combining online theory with a face-to-face practical training and assessment day, this course is suited to supervisors, safety officers, permit officers and operations personnel across Queensland who need to conduct formal hazard analyses as part of their role.

On successful completion, participants receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for MSMWHS201 Conduct hazard analysis from Forky Stick Training and Safety Consultants (RTO #45802).

No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication. Site-specific requirements may vary, confirm with your workplace before enrolling.
