Overview
HLTAID011 Provide First Aid covers the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty in line with guidelines determined by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other Australian national peak clinical bodies. The unit covers recognising and responding to emergency situations, performing CPR and operating an AED, managing a wide range of injuries and medical conditions, casualty monitoring, incident reporting and communication with emergency services.
This unit applies to all persons who may be required to provide a first aid response in community and workplace settings. It is the standard workplace first aid qualification required across most Australian industries.
Delivered via blended learning, combining online theory with a full day of face-to-face practical training and assessment, this course is suitable for anyone across Queensland who requires a current, nationally recognised first aid certificate for work, site entry or personal preparedness.
On successful completion, participants receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for HLTAID011 Provide First Aid, which incorporates HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, from Forky Stick Training and Safety Consultants (RTO #45802).
No formal licensing requirements apply to this unit. First aid is commonly refreshed every 3 years and CPR every 12 months; check your workplace requirements.
