Overview

TLILIC0003 Licence to operate a forklift truck provides the skills and knowledge required to operate a forklift safely in accordance with legislative requirements, manufacturer instructions and workplace procedures.

The course covers planning and preparing for forklift operations, identifying hazards and implementing risk controls, conducting pre-operational checks, safely lifting and moving loads, monitoring operating conditions, and completing shutdown and post-operational procedures.

A forklift truck is a powered industrial vehicle fitted with lifting equipment, such as a mast and elevating load carriage with fork arms or other attachments, capable of raising loads more than 900 millimetres above the ground. Forklifts are commonly used across warehousing, logistics, manufacturing, mining and civil construction workplaces.

Forky Stick Training and Safety Consultants delivers this course over two days of face-to-face training and assessment at our Rockhampton facility. Each course is limited to a maximum of six candidates.

Limiting class numbers provides candidates with greater access to the trainer and forklift equipment, reduces unnecessary waiting time during practical activities and supports efficient progression through the classroom and practical components. All candidates must still complete the required training activities and demonstrate competency against the full unit and High Risk Work Licence assessment requirements.

Candidates who successfully complete the training and assessment requirements receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for TLILIC0003 Licence to operate a forklift truck, issued by Forky Stick Training and Safety Consultants (RTO 45802).

Successful completion of the unit does not automatically issue an LF High Risk Work Licence. Candidates who are assessed as competent through the required High Risk Work Licence assessment may apply to the relevant state regulator for the licence.
